To continue using QuickBooks, you need to complete an account deactivation and reactivation process in the order it is presented.

To modify your Online Banking platform account data into QuickBooks, you will need your Tulsa FCU account username and password as well as access to your QuickBooks desktop application.

The below instructions will take you through the process step by step and should take around 15-30 minutes to complete. Please reference the dates next to each task as this information is time sensitive. If you are a Windows®user, choose “Windows Instructions.” If you are a Mac® user, click the “Mac Instructions” button.

Conversion Preparation

    1. Backup your data file. (For instructions: choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Back Up and follow the instructions.)
    2. Download the latest QuickBooks Update. (For instructions: choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Update QuickBooks, then select Update QuickBooks and follow the instructions).
      • Note: If multiple computers do not use the same QuickBooks data file, skip step 3. (QuickBooks activities such as Online Banking cannot be performed in multi-user mode because of the way the activities interact with a company data file.)
    3. Switch to single user mode. (For instructions: choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Switch to Single User Mode and follow the instructions.)
      • If you are not using Classic Mode (Register Mode), enable it for the conversion. You can change it back after the conversion is complete.
    4. Enable Classic Mode (Register Mode). (For instructions: choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Banking Feed Modes, select Bank Feeds Modes overview, scroll down, and follow the instructions.)

Final Download

IMPORTANT: Connect to Tulsa Federal Credit Union for a final download before July 28, 2017.

    1. Log in to Tulsa Federal Credit Union and download your QuickBooks Web Connect file.
    2. Click File > Utilities > Import > Web Connect Files.
    3. Link your bank account with the existing QuickBooks account and click Continue.
    4. Repeat steps for each account.

Match Downloaded Transactions

If new transactions were received from your connection, accept all new transactions into the appropriate registers. (For instructions: choose Help menu > QuickBooks Help. Search for Matching Transactions and follow the instructions.)

IMPORTANT: All transactions must be matched or added to the register prior to disconnecting your accounts.

Deactivate Accounts

Disconnect Accounts at Tulsa Federal Credit Union on or after July 28, 2017.

    1. Within QuickBooks, choose the Lists menu > Chart of Accounts.
    2. Select the account you want to deactivate.
    3. Click Edit menu > Edit Account.
    4. Click on the Bank Feed Settings tab in the Edit Account
    5. Select Deactivate All Online Services and click Save & Close.
    6. Click OK for any dialog boxes that may appear with the deactivation.
    7. Repeat steps for each account to be disconnected.

Activate Account

Reconnect Accounts to Tulsa Federal Credit Union on or after July 27, 2017.

    1. Log into your Online Banking account from the tulsafederalcu.org homepage.
    2. Download your QuickBooks Web Connect file.
    3. Click File > Utilities > Import > Web Connect Files
      • Take note of the date you last had a successful connection. If you have overlapping dates in the web-connect process, you may end up with duplicate transactions.
    4. If prompted for connectivity type, select Web Connect.
    5. Click the Import new transactions now radio button, then click OK.
      • If you previously removed the check from the “Always give me the option of saving to a file…” option, then this dialog will not display.
    6. In the Select Bank Account dialog, click Use an existing QuickBooks
    7. In the corresponding drop-down list, select your QuickBooks account, and click Continue.
    8. Confirm the prompt by clicking OK.
    9. Repeat steps for each account to be reconnected.

IMPORTANT: Verify that all transactions downloaded successfully into your account registers.

Re-enable Express Mode (if necessary)

  • If you prefer Classic Mode (Register Mode), you are finished with your conversion. If you use Express Mode for online banking, you may now re-enable the mode. (For instructions: choose Help > QuickBooks Help. Search for Banking Feed Modes, then select Bank Feed Modes overview, and follow the instructions.)

Conversion Preparation

    1. Backup your data file. (For instructions: choose Help menu > use the search bar available at the top. Search for Back Up and follow the instructions.) The first time you do a backup, QuickBooks will guide you through setting backup preferences.
    2. Download the latest QuickBooks Update. (For instructions: choose Help menu > use the search bar available at the top. Search for Update QuickBooks, then select Check for QuickBooks Updates and follow the instructions).

Final Download

Connect to Tulsa Federal Credit Union for a final download before July 27, 2017.

    1. Log in to Tulsa Federal Credit Union and download your QuickBooks Web Connect file.
    2. Click FileImport > From Web Connect.
    3. Link your bank account with the existing QuickBooks account and click Continue.
    4. Repeat steps for each account.

Match Downloaded Transactions

If new transactions were received from your connection, accept all new transactions into the appropriate registers. (For instructions: choose Help menu > use the search bar available at the top. Search for Updating Your Register and follow the instructions.)

IMPORTANT: All transactions must be matched or added to the register prior to disconnecting your accounts.

Deactivate Accounts

Disconnect Accounts at Tulsa Federal Credit Union on or after July 28, 2017.

    1. Within QuickBooks, choose the Lists menu > Chart of Accounts.
    2. Select the account you want to deactivate.
    3. Click Edit menu > Edit Account.
    4. In the Edit Account window, click the Online Settings button.
    5. In the Online Account Information window, choose Not Enabled from the Download Transaction list and click Save.
    6. Click OK for any dialog boxes that may appear with the deactivation.
    7. Repeat steps for each account to be disconnected.

Activate Account

Reconnect Accounts to Tulsa Federal Credit Union on or after July 27, 2017.

    1. Log into your Online Banking account from the tulsafederalcu.org homepage.
    2. Download your QuickBooks Web Connect file.
    3. Click File > Import > From Web Connect 
    4. If prompted for connectivity type, select Web Connect.
    5. The Account Association window displays during setup. For each account you wish to download into QuickBooks, click Select Bank Account to choose the appropriate existing account register.
      • IMPORTANT: Do NOT select “New” under the action column.
    6. Click Continue.
    7. Confirm the prompts by clicking OK.
    8. Add or match all downloaded transactions in the Downloaded Transaction window.
    9. Repeat steps for each account to be reconnected.

Deactivate Your Account (if you have one previously)

  1. Within Quicken, choose Tools menu > Account List.
  2. Click the Edit button of the account you want to deactivate.
  3. In the Account Details dialog, click on the Online Services tab.
  4. Click Deactivate. Follow the prompts to confirm the deactivation.
  5. Click on the General.
  6. Remove the financial institution name and account number. Click OK to close the window.
  7. Repeat steps for each account to be deactivate.

Connect Online Banking to Quicken

Download your Quicken Web Connect file from the Online Banking platform by following these steps:

  1. Log into your Online Banking account from the tulsafederalcu.org homepage.
  2. Select the account to Export.
  3. Select a date range in the upper left corner of the account box. Note: A transaction must have taken place within the date range you choose.
  4. Click on the Export link in the upper right corner of the account box.
  5. Select the file type needed. (.qfx for Quicken)
  6. Click Export.
  7. Save the file.

Activate Your Account

IMPORTANT:   Do NOT select “Create a new account” unless you intend to add a new account to Quicken. If you are presented with accounts you do not want to track in this data file, select Ignore – Don’t Download into Quicken or click the Cancel button.

  1. In Quicken, click File > File Import > Web Connect File. Locate and select the Web Connect file you saved in the above step to import it.
  2. Import Downloaded Transactions window opens: Select Link to an existing account and choose the matching account in the drop-down menu. Associate the imported transactions to the correct account listed in Quicken.
  3. Repeat steps for each account to be reconnected.

Connect Online Banking to Quicken

Download your Quicken Web Connect file from the Online Banking platform by following these steps:

  1. Log into your Online Banking account from the tulsafedralcu.org homepage
  2. Select the account to Export.
  3. Select a date range in the upper left corner of the account box.
  4. Click on the Export link in the upper right corner of the account box.
  5. Select the file type needed (.qfx for Quicken)
  6. Click Export.
  7. Save the file.

Activate Your Account

IMPORTANT: Take note of the date you last had a successful connection. If you have overlapping dates in the web-connect process, you may end up with duplicate transactions.

  1. Double-click on the Web Connect file to Open it.
  2. If this is the first time you have downloaded information for this account, or if Quicken cannot determine which account to download the transactions into, you will be prompted to identify the Quicken account your data should be imported into.
  3. If you have set up an existing Quicken account for this account, click Account already exists, then choose the account nickname from the drop-down menu.
  4. If you have not yet set up a Quicken account for this account, click Create a new Quicken account, and then click Continue.
  5. Click Your recent account history is downloaded from your financial institution to Quicken. Depending on the amount of information being sent, you may see a progress bar indicating how much of the transfer is complete.
  6. When your recent account history has been transferred, accept the downloaded transactions into Quicken.
  7. After the initial download and processing, you can download the Web connect file from the Online Center window by clicking Update/Send.
